Eisenhower Library, The Johns Hopkins University 1.833 cubic feet (5.5 document cases) English This record group consists of the records of the Johns Hopkins Institutions Management Committee, an informal advisory body composed of representatives of The Johns Hopkins University and The Johns Hopkins Hospital, which meets to advise the President of the University. These records consist almost entirely of agendas, minutes and supporting papers from the Committee's meetings, dating from its creation in 1976 through 1987, with a gap from July 1985 to October 1986. The records are arranged in one series and filed in chronological order, with a subject index to the first two years of minutes located at the beginning of the record group. History

The Management Committee of the Johns Hopkins Institutions is an informal advisory group to the President of the University, founded in September 1976 in order to "engage in a continuous and regular review of important J.H.I. issues, problems, and opportunities in order to insure that necessary direction and coordination is given to individual operating units consistent with overall goals." Consisting of the Presidents of the University and the Hospital, the University Vice Presidents (including the Provost), and occasionally other senior officials, the Committee meets on a regular basis to discuss institutional policies and procedures and to consider major commitments of University resources, such as the establishment of new programs or divisions. While the Committee is primarily concerned with affairs pertaining to the University, it also advises on Hospital policy and issues as well.
